Weight Watchers Refrigerated Meals are Pretty Good!

OK, I'm not the one who normally goes for pre-packaged meals, something about a frozen dinner that just rubs me the wrong way (maybe I ate too many in college). I came across a new selection of refrigerated meals available from Weight Watchers and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The meals satisfied my palate and my appetite! At about 270 calories per meal for about $3-4 (depending where you get them), this is a great a addition to your grocery list to keep you on track. They even have turkey products for those who are staying away from the beef and pork, like me. So, check them out and let me know what you think!

Make it a great day. Remember, your thoughts create your actions and your actions determine your reality. If you want to change your life today, its within your grasp, simply by changing your mind. I choose life, what about you??

Don't Make Hungry Decisions: Stick with the PLAN!

Fit and FLy Tip for the day.... Plan and Prepare. If you are a mom who is trying to get fit and fab... you must eat first BEFORE preparing your childrens food. Classic example of why... I had my breakfast all planned out: Oatmeal, eggwhites and 1 veggie sausage. I had the exact ingredients that I needed but this plan failed. Why?? Because my CHILDREN wanted Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. It was a holiday, they were home and I couldnt make them suffer because Im on a mission. So I prepared their food. Cinnamon Belgian waffles on my new Waffle iron with stawberry sauce and whipped cream. Before I knew it, I had a waffle in my mouth. It was delicious!! I mean really delicious. I ate that thing so fast, I cant even remember every bite. I was disappointed, frustrated, but I had to examine why this happened. How did I fail when I had a plan?? I was starving... no matter how much planning and preparing you have done, you are not that strong when a HOT waffle is dangled in front of your face. lol Many of us have a plan and good intentions but keep failing because we expose ourselves to temptations while we are HUNGRY! (hmmmm.... that'll preach to the skinny folks too..)So... after examining the situation it became clear. My mom always says you should eat before you go to the grocery store or you will buy everything!!! So the solution is simple. DONT MAKE HUNGRY DECISIONS. When you are hungry you will eat ANYTHING, even when you have a plan. As mothers, society teaches us that we should always be last. Putting yourself last results in constant "grazing". You know the pattern, we eat while we are cooking, nibble on our kids leftovers as we clean the kitchen table and then prepare a whole plate for ourselves. By then, we've had three meals. So from this point forward, YOU EAT FIRST. Even if its an apple, eat something so that you are not tempted to devour what your children or husband or friends will be eating. Its ok to put yourself first... Stick with the plan and more than anything... DON'T MAKE HUNGRY DECISONS, IT WILL GET YOU HEMMED UP EVERYTIME!!

Operation Fit an Fly Starts Now!

First Day Workout

Operation Fit and Fly Starting weight - 235 lb

Sometimes in life, you know something but it takes something outside of you to cause you to REALLY take action. A few weeks ago as I was preparing for ministry, I heard the words Mandatory Manifestation. Simply put, this means that there are times in life where a demand is placed on you to actually Get up off of your dusty rusty and go after your vision, your desires, your dreams. It weird because you can want it, but you dont REALLY WANT it until there is moment of mandatory transformation. For example, you may have a vision for a business but you don't really start that business until you are laid off of your good paying government job. That demand forces you out of your comfort zone!

Well, I had one of those moments this week....a demand has been placed on me that rocked my world. I know... I know....I need to get healthier, get in shape, feel better, look better! And I want this, but I have been in a mode of stopping and starting and restarting again. Well a doctor visit on Monday, quickly FORCED me to focus when I was told that my blood pressure was 140/100, I was given three (3) months to regulate it through diet/excercise OR medication would be inevitable. I believe in the power that God has given me transform my life and I choose NOT to be on blood pressure medication at the age of 34..... so Operation Fit and Fly was born!

Don't wait to start!!!! I usually wait until a MONDAY or the 1st of the month to start, which I realize is a very nice way to procrastinate,... so I started immediately.

Day ONE: 45 min BIKE
